The High Roller

We went after school to show the kids the high roller.  We told them if they got their homework done without whining we had a big surprise for them.  Sadly the kids would not do their homework without a bunch of screaming and freak outs, we did not get to the High Roller before 6pm so we did not get to go on it.

If you go on it before 6pm it is $20  person, after 6pm the price jumps to $35 a person.  We are learning consequences :)
Instead of riding the High Roller we checked out the Polaroid "Museum".  I air quoted museum because it is the saddest one I've ever seen.  I will now save you $5 a person...  They have a gift shop where you can buy tons of camera things.  The funniest thing you could do there was take your nice digital pictures and upload them to their computers and reprint them to look like polaroids.  I just found it to be the dumbest thing.  But I guess if you absolutely love polaroids, then this is for you :)
Hayden had to pose with the Andy Warhol mannequin.  Weirdly behind him is a mini wall made of Campbell's chicken soup cans.  I do not know much about Andy Warhol but I have never put him and chicken soup in the same thought.
We then paid the money to ride the elevator to the second floor for the "museum".  They had this long line of polaroid cameras throughout the years.
Then they had this small glass room with portraits of Andy Warhol on the wall and fans on the ground.  The fans blew silver clouds (aka: silver balloons) up in the air.  I guess I am not cultured enough to understand Andy Warhol's art.
The back wall was covered with polaroids of famous people. Many were old celebrities, a bunch of drag queens, and of course someone's butt.  The kids had to point that one out to us!
They had this really cool art piece on the back wall.  It was fun to pick out different images.
They also had the oldest and biggest Polaroid camera ever.  I love the TV behind Jason & the kids, that image was not planned.  I saw it after I took their picture and couldn't stop laughing.
They had these random polaroid cameras made for fast food chains.
                                  McDonalds.
                                       Taco Bell.
I had to get a close up of this 1985 polaroid camera.  It is exactly like the one our family had when I was young.  The memories...
After the 5 minute "museum" tour we went over to Sprinkles.  The judge from Cake Wars owns the Sprinkles franchise and there is a new store here in Vegas!
Yummy!  We all had a cupcake sundae.  They cut the cupcakes in half horizontally and put a scoop of ice cream in between. Genius!!  It all comes in a cup and you can add sauces for $1. (*Warning* these are on the pricey side $6.95 for one sundae!)  It was a once a year splurge for sure :)
 Doesn't that look delicious?

They even have this hilarious cupcake ATM.  It really works! You swipe your card and order a cupcake.  It comes out in a cute little box.
This was Tyson after eating 3/4 of his sundae.  Thank goodness he kept it down.  It may have ruined cupcakes for all of us if he didn't!
This is Hayden entering a sugar coma.
Super fun night!  If you get a chance head on down to the Linq and check out all the new Vegas fun!!  (They also have a Ghiradeli store there and they serve ice cream too!!)

12x12 May 2014

I remembered the 12x12 first thing in the morning.  I took a few pictures and then the day fell apart.  So hang in there for this post :)
Taylor and Tyson are dying to share a room.  Some times I give in and let Taylor sleep in Tyson's room.  This day was one of those occasions.
Tyson is horrible in the morning.  He fights and freaks out every time it's time to get up.
Hayden had destroyed her bedroom without Taylor in there to monitor her.  Hayden is getting so big though, now that she can clean it up without Taylor.  I was holding Hayden like a baby the other day and she yelled at me "I'm not a baby"!  Broke my heart :(
We are cereal people.  I think at this moment we have 8 opened bags or boxes in the pantry.  In the mornings I play the scriptures on my phone while the kids eat.  Captive audience!  (I'm getting smart in my old age :)
We have been working on a project for quite some time.  Tyson & Taylor are drawing the Book of Mormon two chapters at a time.  It is tedious and is taking a bunch of paper but I know it's going to be awesome! (Don't you love Tyson's stick figures?  We are in Helaman and he is explaining the Nephites have turned bad and the Lamanites have turned good.)
After scriptures my day fell to pieces.  I honestly don't know what happened.  I could have been abducted by aliens for all I know.  It flew by and was not a pretty day.  So I have added a couple of random pictures to fill the hole in my day.  Taylor loves to try things on in stores and have me take pictures of her.  Such a ham.
I included this picture because we went to Macayos a few days before the 12th and I ate my leftovers on the 12th.  (It works right?)
After escaping the aliens,  I took Tyson to baseball practice in the afternoon and had to take this devil with me.  She is such a fighter and goes from kid to kid picking on them.  My sister was in town so she had 2 extra kids to annoy.  Good times!
This was Tyson's last practice of the season and I just love his coaching staff.  They practiced pickles.  The kids loved it!  Did you know there is a correct way to do a pickle?  I always thought it was a free for all.
While Tyson practiced I had a wonderful time working on Ryan's baby blanket.
I will do better next month with my 12x12.  (Hopefully!!!)

Mother's Day

Mother's Day started out wonderful (insert sarcasm here).  Tyson and Taylor are on this lying kick.  They will look right in my eyes and flat out lie.  It makes me crazy!
So BEFORE we even got ready for 9am church they had to write 100 times each, "I will not lie to my mother".
Jason was working so he surprised me with these beautiful tulips on the table when I came downstairs.
He also had gone to a movie the night before and brought me home popcorn.  I think I could eat popcorn all day everyday and be totally happy.  Mother's day breakfast=popcorn!
I am not a fan of my ward but they knocked this holiday out of the park this year. I actually cried out of shock!  The men, young women, and young men took over all of the callings for the day.  They had all of the ladies go to Sunday school.
While we were in there they set up the cultural hall with this fun brunch spread.  Every kind of fruit you could imagine, Costco muffins, orange juice, and waters.  They also had a video with conference talks on motherhood and other lds messages about Moms.  After the morning I had had I could not stop the waterworks.  I even sent Thank You notes to each of the bishopric. I will now put Mother's Day on the list of things my ward does right!
When we got home it was crazy cleaning time and dessert baking.  My sister was in town and she set up a Mother's Day dinner at my house for my mom, aunt, 2 cousins and their families.
I took these quick pictures of the dessert when they were done. (S'more brownies and chocolate chip cookies stuffed with s'mores)  I then lost the camera and didn't get one picture of the Mother's Day dinner.
Oh well, Happy Mother's Day!!

Tyson & his teeth

Tyson has had a loose tooth for a week.  It is disgusting!  It has been hanging in there and flopping all over the place.  He could put it all the way forward and back but it would not come out.
Finally I got fed up and told him to bring me a paper towel.  I twisted it half a click and out it popped.
Man am I glad that is over!  Can you believe this is the first tooth he has lost by himself?  The bottom 2 were pulled out by the dentist and now his top 2 are getting pulled too.  I wonder if we could just have monthly appointments to have the dentist pull whatever is loose :)
 Gotta love missing teeth pictures!
We were in the middle of homework when we finally pulled it out.
Ryan could not stop hugging/smothering him.
Yeah for one more tooth down, only all the rest except for 3 to go.  Ahhhh!  The girls teeth had better be easier than this guy's.  He is making me crazy!!

Tigers last t-ball game

Taylor and Hayden had their last t-ball game.  It was rough!  It was crazy hot and the kids were melting and melting down.
Hayden would usually play one inning in the field and then would refuse to go back out.  We tried to keep her in the grass because she would eat the dirt.  I love her, but man is she crazy :)
Taylor was a hard core baller this year.  She loved playing pitcher and 1st base.  She would not pay attention unless she was in those positions.
 Taylor in action.
Hayden liked hitting but usually had to swing 5 times or more to hit the ball.

Taylor is an old pro and just had to work on not killing the T.
We had a super cute team but our coaches were a bit on the weird side.  If Taylor wants to play fall ball I would probably bump her up to the coach pitch league.  I don't think Hayden would play without Taylor.  So we will see :)
