Chuck E Cheese

Jason had a few days off in the beginning of the month so we took advantage of him home and did fun activities with the kids.  Chuck E Cheese is a favorite hang out.  We went for dinner and had an easy night of entertainment :)
The kids love when Chuck E throws all the tickets up in the air.  It is a mad dash to get the tickets and not get trampled.
Ryan loves Chuck, as evidenced by these photos.  It started as a little like...
...and then turned into a something more...
                                          LOVE!!!
She rode this ride about 8 times.  With every ride they give you a picture of yourself riding with Chuck.  Ryan walks around the house carrying the pictures and talking to them, it's hilarious!
While Ryan was obsessed with Chuck, Hayden could not stop riding the horse ride.  She's all smiles at first but she gets way into it.
 I love her serious face.
See what I mean, full body actions on this little ride at Chuck E Cheese.  I see horseback riding lessons in my future :)
Tyson & Taylor love running around and spending tons of tokens.  Tyson has gotten smart though, he follows the workers around and after they check a game they will hand him the tickets they win.  He got over 150 tickets just handed to him.
Ryan is a major fan of the merry go round.
Gotta love Hayden's face.  No tokens means time to go home :(
Super fun night, until next time Chuck!!

4th of July continued

I found these pictures after I had already blogged the 4th of July, so here is more holiday fun :)
Every year I try to get more and more excited about the 4th of July. It is not my favorite but I am learning to love it.  So in the spirit of the holiday I busted out a fabulous flag cake.  Hayden calls anything with strawberries on it "strawberry shortcake" so that's what we called it.
Jason of all people found this awesome hairdo on facebook and I had to give it a try.  It is suppose to be a star :)  We tried it on Taylor.  She is a good sport because it took all three of us holding hair to get it done!
I also bought shirts for the kids weeks in advance. I wish I could find all 3 girls matching shirts but we didn't mind these adorable stars for Ryan. (Since she is the star in our house!) This morning when she woke up all the kids rushed over to see her and get in her face.  Tyson remarked, "It's like Ryan's famous."  Hilarious!!
2 beautiful girls in their flag shirts.  Hayden actually got a burn on her shoulder from wearing it like that all day.  Such a silly.
Double dose of the 4th of July.  Woohoo!

4th of July 2014

We started our 4th of July with an early morning trip to "the wood store" aka Home Depot.
Tyson was less than thrilled with the manual labor required of him.

Jason and I thought it would be awesome to have a fire pit in the back yard.
We did 2 layers and had to take a break. It was boiling outside!!
We went to a movie and had some lunch and then got back to business.  Here is our final product!!
Right as we were finishing up the fire pit, the thunder and lightning started. We got a few fireworks off and then came the downpour!!

We stayed out in the rain and tried to do a few sparklers.

Jason was probably the last one to give up on the fireworks.  He had gone to Moapa and had even got some "illegal" ones. They were sadly not that impressive, they shot up in the sky about 10 feet and that was it.  Luckily our neighbors and neighborhoods around us spent tons of money and there was an awesome show to see.
 Taylor soaking wet.
Hayden, the smartest of us all, missed the rain and firework attempts.  She slept through all the festivities and then was put in her bed by Jason.
Fun and busy holiday!!

Circus

We went to our favorite Barnum and Bailey Circus.

This act cracked me up. I know there is a punchline somewhere here,
The motorcycles are always thrilling and this year they stepped it up and added...
...neon lights!
We love this tiger/lion tamer because he speaks english.  It got a little hairy with one of the tigers and he tried to make a joke out of it but it was still scary.
He actually kissed this lion. Some people have death wishes!

Ryan was mesmerized.  I love how big she is getting, it's fun to see her reactions :)
This year's theme was legends so they had a Pegasus.
And of course a unicorn.
The kids love all the horses in the show.

The elephants are always the highlight!

And so are the snow cones :)

The little dogs are hilarious!
Tyson loves pigs and is always begging for me to get him a mini pig.  Could you imagine a mini pig running around your house?!
Tyson almost died when they brought out this woolly mammoth.  He thinks he knows everything about dinosaurs and animals that existed in their time period.  I had to reassure him that they are still extinct and this is an elephant in an awesome costume.
More amazing stunts:

We love the circus! Woohoo!!!
