Gilcrease Orchard

Taylor's second preschool went on a field trip to Gilcrease Orchards.  As you can see by the picture we are at the VERY end of the season!  Most of the pumpkins you see in the distance are busted, moldy, or nasty.
Everything was dead and very picked over.  We went last year at the first of October and it was so fun.
This time I felt a bit like scavengers trying to find anything that the girls would like.
The girls thought it was awesome to run around and play in dirt so they didn't mind all the dead plants.
Isn't that a monster sweet potato?
We did find three small pumpkins that didn't have holes in them and weren't covered in bugs.
Taylor found the smallest watermelon ever and HAD to have it.  The guy at the cash register laughed and didn't even charge us for it :)
I saw this sign and it gave me a chuckle.  I have never thought that warts would be good eating!
After roaming through all the dead plants we went to the front and bought apple cider and donuts.  Any activity is awesome if it ends with donuts :)

Halloween Party

Last night we had our very first Halloween party!
We had red punch with floating eyeballs, they really were the kids favorite things.
I tried my hand at cake making, not the best but the kids could tell it was supposed to be a pumpkin so I guess it wasn't too awful :)
Jason made delicious ribs and sausage links.  It is suppose to look like a skeleton but all I could find was this glitter skull.  I will be on the lookout for a clearance life like skull for next year :)
KaySea made awesome mummies, the kids also made mummy pizzas with bagels and string cheese.
The kids ate really well because we told them they had to finish eating to carve pumpkins.
Taylor really got into cleaning the pumpkins this year, which I am very grateful for!  Tyson did a good job too :)
There were pounds and pounds of pumpkin guts everywhere.

We had such a fun time we will have to make it an annual tradition!!

Pumpkin Patch

Taylor's preschool class went to the pumpkin patch!  This is actually 3 classes combined.  There are six kids in each class and Mrs. Aubrey lets siblings come too.
The girls loved jumping in the jump houses.

They also had a spinning ride that the kids had a blast on.  I was shocked no one threw up!

Taylor was pretty timid in the petting zoo.
Hayden, not too much!  The girl is a wild child, she has no fear and was touching every animal if they wanted to be touched or not!

The kids love Mrs. Aubrey, here they are telling her all about the animals they were just petting.  She is so patient and gives each of them turns for her attention.  We are so lucky to have her as our preschool teacher again.  Tyson is in 1st grade but still talks about things he learned in her class.
Adorable Ryan is getting so much better at being drug everywhere by her crazy mother :)
Hayden is such a character, she doesn't need anyone else around to have a good time.  She loves to explore.  It is funny to see the differences in her and Taylor's personalities.  Taylor is all about her friends.
Klara the farmer and Hayden the cow.
It is always fun to attempt a group picture.  Would you believe this is the best out of four?
Believe it!  One out of three looking at the camera = Success!  I try to stay positive and think, well it could be zero out of three :)

Halloween Festivities

This year Jason and I were invited to an adults only Halloween party.  Ryan crashed the party :)
Here is Amanda in her award winning Mary Poppins costume.  Her husband was Burt the chimney sweep.  Too cute!
This is the one and only picture of Jason in his Angry Bird costume. You have a pillow in the front and back and he couldn't take the heat!
Mary Poppins, Burt, Cotton Candy, Big Hunk and of course a Zombie :)
Zoltar and Tom Hanks also made an appearance at the party.  Zoltar was the funniest costume, he even had real fortunes to hand out.
Sandy and Adam were awesome zombies!
Our ward had it's Trunk or Treat on Saturday. Mark was a perfect Hulk Hogan, he got his picture taken so often he thought he was a celerity!  They had a costume contest and had everyone walk down the catwalk while everyone cheered.  He was in heaven.
Taylor and that wig, whatever I did to it never made it look good.  She was happy so I guess that's all that matters.
Owen as Linc and Tyson as a zombie.
The two cutest belly dancers ever!
They had so much fun dancing and running around.  The best part was we could always hear where they were.
Ryan was all decked out in her zebra outfit and of course had a major blow out.  She was just a girl in pink the rest of the night.
The kids walked the catwalk and felt like mini celebrities.
We are getting major use out of these costumes this year and I just love it!  I hope we are not too pooped out for the main event :)

Halloween Jammies

Grandma DeMille sent the kids some fun jammies for Halloween. Aren't they darling?!?
Poor Hayden hasn't been feeling too well as you can see, her little nose and upper lip are totally raw from all the bugger wiping.
We asked Tyson to come out from behind the chair so we could get a picture of his jammies too and that's where this photo shoot went downhill fast.

My boy, my boy... such a nut!!!

Sundays suck

Sundays are always crazy around here, it just seems like any time slot we are assigned is hard.  The 9am is too early, the 11am is right in the middle of lunch/nap and 1pm is too late.
This year we have the 11am session.  It's really rough on Hayden, she has already been labeled "aggressive" and "emotional" by our nursery leaders.  This Sunday was especially fun when she and her friend Parker were both cranky and started fighting.  We were told when we picked her up she was screaming, scratching, and kicking.  (I taught her all her fighting moves)
We were told we should go home and have a "talk" with Hayden.  Before any "talking" or lunch happened the girl passed out right on the kitchen chair.  Should I take offense with our nursery leaders, or chalk it up to church stinks with a two year old?  I'm leaning to offense :)
