The day I wished would never come...

The other day Tyson complained and complained about his teeth hurting.  He wouldn't eat and was getting crazy annoying.  Finally I look in his mouth and see a huge bubble behind his bottom teeth.  I thought his new teeth were abscessed so I made an appointment with out favorite: the dentist.

I know I am overly crazy about teeth and I know I am doubly crazy because he is our first.  The dentist just laughed and said his teeth are just coming in and it looks fine and is really common.  He did ask us if we would like to go home and wiggle the front teeth for a few weeks or he would pull them right now.  We had to pay our deductible so I told Tyson I would pay him instead to go home and wiggle them for a few weeks but he begged to have them out.
 So out they came!!!
I wasn't ready for my baby to take this huge step and only had my dang phone so the pictures are not the best.  He was so excited to finally lose a tooth.  Every single kid in his school class and in his church class had already lost a tooth and he complained regularly about this.
I didn't lose my first tooth till 3rd grade so I knew his pain :)  My Mom bought me the book "Molly and the slow teeth" to help me feel better about my slow teeth.
They gassed him first and then gave him a shot in his gums to numb him up.  He did great and didn't fuss or flinch.  The real reason was they have a TV on the ceiling and if the TV is on there is no distracting the kid.
I could never be a dentist, the drilling and fixing I could do, I just could not do the pulling.  It just seems so barbaric to pull someone's tooth out, even if they are totally numb.  Just freaky!!
Here is my toothless baby.  It just breaks my teeth loving heart.  For a whole day I was so sad.  Tyson got $5 from the Tooth Fairy, she left a note and said he got a bit more than normal because he gave two teeth at once and was so brave at the dentist.
The best part is that the new tooth has moved itself right into the hole now instead of behind the tooth. I was worried it would need chains and all that craziness to bring it forward.
I haven't shared any Tysonisms lately but since it's summer and I see him more he is really hitting me with some zingers, so here they are:

On the first day to Wet n Wild we pulled up to the park and Tyson shouts, "So are we in China now?" Due to the long car ride.

The other day Tyson walked in from outside and he said, "I saw two birds who are in love."  Jason and I asked, "Why do you say that?"  Tyson replies, "They were connected to each other."  Trying to play it off and avoid a birds and bees talk I said, "They were probably just fighting."  Tyson replies, "No they were in love, they weren't pecking each other."  I sent him to his room and told him to stay away from freaky birds.  Thanks a lot Animal Planet!!!

We have been dealing with a lot of whining and freak outs about cleaning and doing chores from Tyson.  He is the oldest and I expect a lot out of him.  Today after being asked to clean up he says, "Why do we have to keep the house clean?"  Exasperated, I told him that if we have a messy house there are people who can come to our house and take our kids away because it's too messy.  He says, "What's their number?"

Gotta love this kid!!!!

Water slide

Every year I shell out a ton of money to buy a small pool for the kids and they get bored of it and it turns green and then I have to shock it and I 'm no pool expert so it usually is not a good time.
This year I saw a great deal on an inflatable water slide.  The kids have been on it every day this week.  They are in love!
It's the first thing they ask to do when they get up.  It takes up a lot of space but when you are not using it, it deflates and drains all the water.  No buying chlorine or shock .
Love it!!

Piano problems

We are not huge piano players over here yet.  The kids are in a music program that we love and this next year they are starting piano.  We don't use our piano much but the other day I went and hit a few bottom keys and no sound came out.
I opened the lid and found an entire pack of flash cards inside the piano!  I spent half an hour gently removing all the cards.  I couldn't get a picture of how far down and spread out they were.
Thanks kids!  No one will own up to it but I have fingered Hayden as the guilty party :)

Almost walking

Ryan is getting so close to walking she now stands up in the middle of the room without help or holding on to anything.
 Here she is halfway...
 ...all the way up!
She claps and claps for herself each time.  It is hilarious!!
She turned and was thinking about walking to me.
And then thought it would be best if I came to her.
It didn't happen so she just finished eating instead :)
Such a silly baby!

Hayden's preschool graduation

Hayden's little preschool class had a graduation in their room.  I asked if we should come because she honestly was only a student for two weeks.  They said they made her a diploma and have been taking pictures of her to include them in the slideshow.  Super sweet!
Hayden was so excited to have us in her class.  She was running around showing us everything and introducing "My Mommy, My Baby, and My Tay Tay" to everyone.
They had the kids preform a few songs.  This is how Hayden started and she just went downhill from there.

She was given a cute diploma from Ms. Christina.
But she was more interested in the sucker and bubbles that came with it.
I know it was only two weeks of class but now Hayden is really trying to learn how to be understood.  She copies what the kids say and we are trying hard to stop the tantrums.
Congratulations Hay Hay!  We can't wait to see what next year brings!!

Last day at Knotts

On our last day in California we went back to Knotts Berry Farm to hit all the things we missed on the first day.  This is right after the boys went on the Ghost Train ride.  Tyson loves to make this face after scary roller coasters but then gets right in line to go again.
Me and the girls waited patiently while they were on their ride and took a few pictures.  Here are the girls in their twin shirts.  It has Lucy pulling the football away while Charlie Brown is trying to kick.
Here is our drama queen in training.  She is not hurt she was told to get off of the wall because she was trying to eat dirt.  I wanted to capture her mini meltdown on film.  I know they will not be this cute when she is older.
I don't know if it is kids in general or just particularly DeMillie kids but  they are obsessed with boobs.  In every picture someone is feeling these poor statues up.  Sorry ladies!

The world's smallest and noisiest semi trucks.
Self powered roller coaster.

Sally and Linus's speedway.

We caught the Snoopy show. Sad to say it really sucked, Knott's Berry Farm had better pick it up if they want to compete with old Disneyland!

Ryan sported a mohawk most of the trip, it was adorable! (The fella holding her isn't too shabby either!)
We finished off our day watching the Wild West show again.  This one is awesome, they have water splashing the audience, TNT, and a grappling gun.  The kids loved it, except for Ryan who freaked out when she got sprayed with water.
Super fun trip, can't wait to go again next month!!

Knott's Berry Farm Soak City

The kids love spending the night in hotel rooms.  All three decide to sleep in this twin bed.  We brought an extra queen size blow up bed that went vacant the whole trip.  I was just glad no one fell of the bed.  It's so sad when you hear that huge thump in the middle of the night!
On our second day we went to Soak City.  Everyone got sunburned the first day at Knotts, so at Soak City I had them wear this new sunblock I found that doesn't rub into your skin.  It stays it's color and if it washes off after a while that means it's time to reapply.  The kids loved their crazy painted faces.
Tyson and Darrell did get a lot of Braveheart comments.  So funny!
Tyson and Taylor loved the kid slides.

Ryan had a blast in the kid area and making messes with her snacks.
I have a huge weakness for baby bikinis, isn't it just adorable?!?  It is also really easy to change diapers when needed.  Darling and practical :)
This was Hayden's first tankini, I guess I didn't sun block her back very well and now she has a huge tan line all across her back.
Hayden was non stop in the water and wore herself out.  She crashed on a beach chair for 3 hours!  Ryan took a nap while I held her.  Can't wait to go back to Soak City, it was really fun!  On to day #3...
