busy days

We have been doing tons of stuff and now I finally have a second to blog about it all. This is what happens when Mom goes to the store by herself. She comes home to find Tyson wearing his clothing like this and Dad encouraging it by taking pictures. What a couple of nuts!
We bought tickets for the Sesame Street show months ago and it was this last Friday. Tyson loves the spinning toys they sell. I'm sure they are terribly overpriced but he loves it. I put my foot down on the Elmo balloon $10 bucks for a balloon of Elmo's head. By the end of the night we counted at least $60 floating to the ceiling.

This is how Taylor spent the 2nd half of the show. It was so loud in there I don't know how she slept. Why is it that all kid shows and things are so loud? I know kids are noisy, but making them deaf is not going to help anything.
Tyson had his second game. The running was still a problem, he walked to all the bases again. But this time he did run to the dugout after walking all the bases. That boy.
I did have to do major work on Tyson's pants this week he got them filthy. How you ask? Well I'll tell you, every time the other team would hit the ball, all the boys run after it and dog pile on each other. Tyson would run after the boys and fall in the dirt next to the dog pile. Classic!
On Monday we wanted to do something fun. We have been so stressed with Jason's job and everything we haven't spent any money or done much while he has been off. So we went to the Springs Preserve. We thought Tyson would like it. It had a ton of cool things.

There was this really cool outdoor play area for the kids. Every now and then this snake made noises, it was hilarious to see Tyson. He would jump off the snake and run to us.

Tyson had been here once before with some friends. So as we were seeing different things he kept asking to go to the balls. We stopped everyone we saw and said do you know where the balls are? We finally found the place, he was talking about the oranges. Its a display that tells you all about recycling and different stuff. The "ball" display tells you about your food and how far it travels to get to you. This is a conveyor belt the kids put oranges on and then at the top they fall out the shoot and go everywhere.

Tyson would have been there all day if we had let him.

This is an actual garbage truck that they have turned into a theater. On the side of the truck they have flatened soda cans and on the inside of the truck they have garbage cans with cushions on top for seats. It was super cute.

It was a fun day : )

We still have a job!!!

Thank you to everyone for all their concern and prayers for our family. Jason was called today at 5pm and told he can go back to work on Tuesday! We are over the moon excited to still have employment in these crazy times. A ton of Jason's coworkers were not so lucky. Thanks again to everyone! We are so happy to know that we have friends and family to turn to in times of need!

My little guy

We had an enrichment night and this woman talked about all the things that grow well in our valley and gave us all these tips on how to plant. So, Tyson and I planted our seeds today in a starter container. Nickel the crazy dog ate 4 of our tomato plants and the cucumber plant. For some reason all the strawberries we planted didn't come in. So we are trying again before it gets too hot. The seeds we planted need full sun so the lady said they would do well. They are cucumber, squash, beans, and lettuce. And we also got a strawberry plant that was already started. Tyson loves strawberries so I hope they work.

Tonight we were reading scriptures, which is usually the biggest train wreck. We bought all the picture stickers that go along with the stories to try to help everyone understand what we are reading. So we ask everyone if they are ready and Tyson says, "no I have to find Jesus". So he flips through all the pictures and finds Jesus. I'm thinking my son is a spiritual giant; then he knocks me back to reality by saying, "Jesus is boring". I can't believe my son has uttered these words! He repeats it 3 times just so I can be sure to hear it. What am I raising?
Be warned here are more Tyson sleeping pictures.
This has never happened before and now it is the second time this month. I wasn't going to take pictures this time because everyone thought the other pictures were so freaky but I feel it is my duty to document what a nut this kid is. No one believes me when I tell them. They need proof. Here it is.
He was in the tub again and was snoring like there was no tomorrow.
(I love all the toys floating and bobbing all over)
So I drain the water. By now he is snoring so loud I can hear it over the draining water. All the toys are hitting him as the water drains. I'm calling his name, shaking his arm, I eventually just leaned over and had to pick him up.
I got him in his towel and laid him on the bed. He did wake up when I got him dressed and then we were in for it. It didn't take to long to get him back to sleep again. We just put on Scooby Doo and he was out.
Sorry no Taylor pictures Grandma and Grandpa. She has not stopped screaming and crying long enough to take any. Teething has ruined my perfect baby!

This and That

Here are a few pictures from our weekend. Easter dress #2. Girls Rock!
Tyson had practice and that stinkin punk kid was up to his old tricks. Tyson was defending his face. I've taught him well.

I know I'm a little crazy with the T-ball pictures but this is Tyson catching his first grounder.

Look at that throw.
I love when they watch the ball go past them and then start running to catch it.
Another Tyson sleeping picture. This was the middle of the day, watching cartoons in his room. I guess the snacks ran out.
Taylor had her 9 month check up today. She finally is in the 50% percentile and not the 95+ percentile. If one more nurse called her a chunky monkey I was going to start swinging. If she ends up with an eating disorder I'm going after those nurses! =)
The reason she is finally down in weight is because she is everywhere. As you can see. Here she is helping Daddy do dishes. We start them young.

1st T-ball game!!

We had Tyson's first T-ball game today. And of course we could not begin the day without a fight. I bought Tyson these lovely cleats, will he wear them? Heck no! He did wear the uniform and hat so I didn't push the issue too much. They don't require the kids to wear cleats but I want him to be the best little t-baller he can be so of course he HAS to have all the proper equipment. I decided to have a few pictures of Taylor before I get into the recount of Tyson's first game. Taylor loved crawling in the grass. The kids don't hit far so all the parents sit in the outfield to cheer the kids on.
Taylor is a food hound. If there is food she will find it. The poor people next to us. She
kept crawling right over and trying to steal theirs. (Don't I look like such a good Mom having all those wonderful things to eat in our bag? Should I mention the See's candy in the side pocket? Nah.)

Before the big game I had to beg and plead for this picture.

Coach going over "the rules" before the game.
Here is Daddy giving Tyson some hitting and running advice. The running was a real issue.

Here is coach talking Tyson up before he bats.
Always fixing the hands.

Look at that HIT! Isn't he GREAT?!!!

And then the problems start. Everyone shouting what to do, the poor kid doesn't know where to go.
We finally got him down to first. The boy WILL NOT under ANY circumstances run.
Three innings, Mommy screaming like a banshee, nothing faster than a stroll to the bases.
Tyson and his best good friend on second.

Making it slowly, ever slowly to third.

Getting all the way home was painful. But he did do it and of course was VERY proud. Each of the Dads that helped on the bases would give him high fives when he finally got there. It got so bad even the other team was screaming for Tyson to run and the other team's coaches as well as our own were trying to get this boy to move! Priceless!

Isn't this the cutest picture ever?!? Serious ballers waiting their turn to play!

I love how cute the coach is with the boys.
The coach tells the boys baseball positions and has them squat with their hands on their knees. As you can see Tyson doesn't quite get it yet.

He did do it one time and I was lucky enough to catch it on film. The only problem was it wasn't time for baseball positions, as you can see from the rest of the team.
You gotta love when they use their mitts for shade.

Several times we had to tell Tyson to turn around and pay attention.

He is not too good at listening to us and took a hit to the leg from a batted ball. He didn't cry or anything which was good, he was more bothered by it really.
They do high fives to the other team at the end, too cute!
Tyson's uniform was in mint condition due to the no running and no catching, but it couldn't last through snack time. Dang you Doritos, Dang you!

We figured out that Tyson is the youngest kid on the team, coupled with his shyness business we have our work cut out for us this season! Oh I love my little T-baller!
