School fun

First day of school!!!
Tyson went and met his teacher last week and saw where his class would be.  It didn't help!  I went to the office to drop off sports equipment and they asked for my students name.  I say, "Tyson DeMille" and the receptionist says, "Oh yes, I remember him from Monday."  I almost started crying, and asked what happened.  She told me there was a mix up with some list and he wasn't on his teacher's list so when people were trying to help him to his class no one knew where  he was suppose to go.  They made him go to the front office and they looked him up on the master list and he was on that.  She kind of down played it like it wasn't a big deal but my thoughts are you don't remember one kid's name out of 700+ for nothing.  I guess we are starting this year off with a bang!

Did I mention that after the second day of school I also cleared Tyson's room out?  He now has only a bed, dresser, and laundry basket in there.  Day two and he was already needing an hour of yelling at him to get up and freaking out about doing his homework (10 minutes of reading a night).  This is going to be a fun year I can just tell!!!
*Side Note* Day three the boy got himself up and dressed by 7am.  (He REALLY wants those legos back!)

Last day of vacation

On our last day we wen to the beach and then headed to IKEA.
The kids loved the water and weren't bothered at all by the freezing temperatures.
Ryan even got her feet wet but was not very thrilled by her first time in the ocean.

Hayden, a true Vegas girl only likes the heat so she didn't last too long and wouldn't let go of Jason's hand the entire time.  There were a bunch of dips in the ground and it was very easy to fall.

Mark loved the beach and laughed the whole time we were there.
Tyson searching for sea creatures, crazy boy.
Darrell was very unsteady on his feet and it was like watching those cartoons where people slip on banana peels.  I think his feet went over his head once.  After two dunkings he was done.
When the terrible T's decided to get out of the water we flew kites.  It's funny how short kid's attention spans are, once the kites are in the air they get bored real quick.
Hayden loved chasing the kite and when it was finally in the air she would chase the shadow.  Such a nut!  We didn't get any pictures at IKEA, the place was a mad house!  When we pulled up they were taking this guy off on a stetcher, I could not help myself from cracking jokes about how IKEA is so awesome the guy probably had a heart attack.  No one was amused, I thought it was funny.  I guess the guy will have great stories to tell about his injuries from IKEA.

Legoland Day #2

On the second day of our trip we went to the aquarium and then spent the rest of the day at the water park.

They had the hugest Japanese crab I have ever seen in my life, isn't that the freakiest thing ever?
Jason begged and begged the kids to take a picture with him in this huge set of teeth.  Ryan was the only taker :)

All the kids put their hands in the water but I think Tyson was the only one who actually touched the animals.
Taylor was the only brave one to stand by the shark.
After the aquarium we walked through mini lego land.  Wouldn't that be an awesome job to have?  All day just building replicas of landmarks.  It would, sadly, be my dream job.  I say sadly because it shows how nerdy I really am!
Isn't this awesome?  They even have the bikers jumping in the air.  Too funny!
This of course was Jason's favorite part, gotta love the bay area.
I wish I was that Mom who could buy their kids random junk from theme parks.  Seriously when would they ever wear these hats again?  I have them try them on and then make them put them back on the shelf.

Tyson has a thing about getting wet if he is not wearing his swim clothes so we couldn't ride these rides until he was properly attired.  I love this picture of them heading off dry while the people who were just on the ride are soaked.
They made a valiant attempt to avoid the people shooting on the sidelines.
But they were not too successful.
Hayden loves playing in the water but gets so cold her lips turn blue.  We have to bundle her up and get her warmed up and then she goes off and plays some more.
After the water park and before going home for the night we told the kids they could play 2 games each.  You had to knock 3 pirate people down to win, that didn't happen so then they moved on to the next game.
On this one you had to get the ball in the bucket and it couldn't come out.  So much harder than you would think.  We walked away empty handed :(
Before closing we had to get one last stop in to the hero factory place and make our own hero factory guys.
Hayden had to say good bye to her lego people.  I think she was telling this one to stay.  That girl had us cracking up the whole trip, what a personality!
Our final day we went to my favorite ever IKEA and a quick visit to the beach...

Surprise!! Legoland

Jason and I decided on Wednesday to go out of town on Thursday and to come back to town on Sunday night!  And we decided not to tell the kids where we were going, all they knew was it was near the beach.  They were super excited when we turned the corner and they saw Legoland!
I was super proud to not have spilled the beans, I cannot keep a secret for very long, especially one this fun!
I love how Taylor has no shame and will walk right up to other people and stare at them or listen to their conversations.  This boy was begging his father for something and Taylor was right in the middle of it.
We had to take a lot of shifts to ride the rides.  Legoland is very strict on their rides so even though Mark is an adult he had to ride with an able bodied person in case the ride broke down.  Guess what, if the ride broke down I would sit there until it was fixed, its not like I would throw him over my shoulder and walk off the ride.  Whatever... I guess everywhere needs rules but sometimes it seems a little much.
Tyson and Darrell
The only thing Tyson could tell me about this jungle ride was that there are monkeys with red behinds.  Nice.
Tyson was in love with all the bugs at Legoland.  Here he is with rollie pollies.
Story book cruise.
Tyson and snails. Such a nut!  He kept looking for a grandfather snail, courtesy the Lorax.
We sat and watched this fun show after lunch.
Our crew was not very impressed with it.
Then they started the fire and the kids liked it a little bit more.
Then came LMFAO's song into the program and the kids now LOVE the show.  I think Tyson even said that was the best show he had ever seen.  Funny how a song can change everything.  *Side note*  Thanks to LMFAO my kids walk all over the house singing, "I'm sexy and I know it". Thank you LMFAO, thank you. (Insert sarcasm here)
Jason and the kids were no match for the other teams in this race and got beat pretty bad.
Tyson had to be bribed to go on this horse ride, he informed us he is too big for "baby" rides.
This is the first time Taylor could ride on the horses because of the strict 4 year old rule.

Tyson begged to go on this ride but because he was only 6 he could only go up and down slowly on it.  Darrell however went on the higher speed and was holding on for dear life.  You would never guess but Darrell loves roller coasters and right before he gets on he tells you, "Nervous a little bit".  It always cracks me up.
Our last ride of the night was the boat trip around mini lego land.
Super fun day and only a few mishaps.  Onto day #2...
