Hayden starts preschool

My little Hayden has started preschool!
Hayden went through all this testing with an organization called Child Find.  We were referred to them by her pediatrician for her speech delay.
She passed or rather failed all of their tests and qualified for early childhood intervention.  She is now going to preschool Monday through Thursday for 2 1/2 hours a day.  (Well for the next 3 weeks anyway.  Super weird to start school with only 3 weeks to go.)
She is so excited, she loves her new Minnie Mouse backpack and yells, "My school, my school" when we turn the corner to her school.  When I dropped her off the teacher asked what my concerns with Hayden are.  I said primarily we are worried about her speech and then as an after thought I said, "Oh yeah, we are worried about aggression too.  She does not share well and will hit."
When I picked her up the first day the teacher met me and said, "She had a really good day, she only tried to hit me once."  Ahhh, I just could have died from embarrassment!  What am I raising that goes to school and on her first day attacks her teacher?!?  The teacher said she explained to Hayden that we don't act like that at school and Hayden said sorry.  I am glad I warned the teacher about the aggression.
It has been so funny to have Hayden in our home, she is just the polar opposite of Tyson and Taylor.  They would never dream of doing or saying anything that would get them into trouble at school or at someone's house.  Hayden is going to do what she wants and she will let everyone around know how she is feeling at any moment.  I love my crazy Hay-Hay!!

Mother's Day 2013

Mother's Day was so fun this year!  The kid's were so fun with all of the homemade gifts.  Taylor painted this wonderful bird house at preschool.
Tyson's class had a Mother's Day Tea.  It was ADORABLE!!  They started off with a Mother's Day song.
Then they read their 10 Rules for Being My Mom, here are Tyson's rules:
1.)You must do the dishes
2.) You must make dinner
3.) You must make our beds (which is so weird I have never made a bed ever, I think it's a waste of time)
4.) You must deal with the baby
5.) You must wake us up for school
6.) You must care for me (so cute!!!)
7.) You must love me
8.) You must feed the dog
9.) You must clean the bathroom
10.) You must clean the garage
He then read his paper, "The Important Thing About My Mom"
"The important thing about my Mom is that she likes to read.  It is true that she is a Mom and she likes to sing and keeps me safe.  She likes to play sports.  She's sweet to me and she's sweet as a flower.  She has green eyes and she makes silly faces.  She plays plants vs. Zombies.  But the important thing about my Mom is that she likes to read."
The scariest part was we didn't get to see these papers before the kids went to the front of the class and said them in front of everyone.  I appreciated that he said I was sporty and sweet but I guess I read a little too much :)
The kids also filled out a questionnaire about their Moms.  Tyson says I have "short" hair, "green" eyes, I am "5 feet" tall, I weigh "3:04 pounds" (what the heck?) and I am "45 years old" (SERIOUSLY!!)  I was doing good until the 3:04 pounds and 45 year old comments.  Ouch!!

I didn't take one picture on actual Mother's Day, I was too busy being pampered.  Jason made French toast and eggs for breakfast, pasta and chicken for lunch and steak and potatoes for dinner.  I got the new Fall Out Boy CD, Snickers (my fave),  yummy Target trail mix, and beautiful red roses.  Super fun day!!

Taylor's last t-ball game

Taylor's t-ball season is over!  We survived, just barely :)
She is not a fan of fielding the ball.

She is not a fan of hitting the ball.  She holds the bat like a hockey stick.
She is not a fan of running.
She is not a fan of watching the game.
This is how the kids like to watch Taylor's game.
Taylor is a fan of the trophy and end of the year party.  I think a separate party should be thrown for the parents at the end of the season for all the tantrums, meltdowns, and drama they had to endure throughout the season!
Taylor says she does not want to play baseball again and wants to now try soccer.  This girl could drive a mother batty!

Lacrosse

Tyson's school had a week of lacrosse last week.  Two practices and then a tournament on Friday.
It was very fun to get a look at a different sport that we were not very familiar with.
Tyson of course loved it and wants me to buy him lacrosse gear now.
I love that he is sporty!
Mr. Miles ran the practices and tournament.  There was a HUGE turnout.
Taylor and her good friend Nixon watched on the sidelines and ate snowcones.
After the tournament we headed over to Tyson's baseball party where he got his trophy and dog tag.  We have had the greatest season this year.  Coach Wade has done excellent with the boys and his assistant coaches have also been wonderful.

Ryan is a trooper being drug to all of these fun events.  Our motto is, give her some fruit snacks and keep the food coming.  This girl rarely has a clean face lately, she is into everything!

Hayden is always into trouble when we are out in public.
 We always forgive her though...
Who could stay mad at that face?

Let's Play Music

Our kids have finished their first year of Let's Play Music!  Mrs. Kim had the kids do a recital so they could show off all they have learned.  It was ADORABLE!
Mrs. Kim has four classes and the oldest kids are Tyson and Taylor's class, so the kids age ranges are from 4-7.  Mrs. Kim is a very brave and patient person!
Our entire class except for Sunny (who was sick) is on the scale on the ground.  They sung the  Do Re Mi song and stepped up the staff with their feet while signing their Solfeggio hand signs.  I didn't even know what Solfeggio hand signs were 8 months ago.
The biggest surprise about this whole class is how good of a singer my boy is!  He can match pitch and has really caught onto a lot of the music concepts he has been introduced to.
Each child has bells that they practice on at home and our class preformed the "Dinosaur Song".  It's pretty complicated and our kids did great.

Taylor's big job of the night was to hold the Ti Re Sol triangle chord up.  She did excellent :)

Each child got a certificate with their name on it showing that they completed their first year.
We did two semesters, the first was red balloons and the second was blue bugs.  Let's Play Music teaches intricate music concepts in very easy for kids to understand ways.  The balloons taught the kids how sound goes up and down.  The bugs taught the kids timing by clapping to the names of different bugs.  They also learned tons of other things, the other day my Mom was watching the kids and Tyson heard a song on TV and commented to my Mom, "That song sounds very minor to me".  She is a piano teacher and was really surprised by his comment.
Next we are on to green turtle shells and learning to play keyboards!  I can't wait!!
