Anderson Dairy

Hayden's preschool had a field trip to Anderson Dairy.
Hayden was very unsure of the animatronic dog, cow, and rooster.
But she loved the machines that made milk and ice cream.

She would get on tippy toe and jump up and down pointing.  It was adorable!
When we went in the freezer they told the kids to touch the wall as they go around the corner.  I love that Taylor and Casen are too big to follow directions :)  I mean, they are 5 and have already done all this when they were 3.
 Hayden and the fog.
After the tour it was time to watch the fun movie about the history of the dairy and Las Vegas.  I learned several things this time.  I have been doing burlap crafts but I should have been collecting it to keep my milk cold if the refrigerator ever goes out.  Who knew?
During the movie the tour guide handed out yummy ice cream.  I think all the kids devoured theirs before I could grab one picture.  Thanks Sawyer! I love a kid who takes his time :)
We tried to get a group shot, they are always fun :)

Gotta love 3 & 4 year olds!  Fun field trip!

Tyson's Birthday

Tyson walked down the stairs the morning of his birthday to this! He was excited to finally have a big kid bike.
I ran to Krispy Kreme before school and sent Tyson to school with donuts for his class.  After school we went to Macayos for dinner.

We ran home after dinner for grasshopper cake.  All week Tyson kept asking for "cockroach cake".  Such a nut!
Tyson was very into his wish this year and took a while to get it right.
Finally he blew them out with help :)
Super fun day. Tyson can't wait till his "friend" party in a couple of days.  I know this kid is spoiled rotten.  Gotta love him :)

Tyson is 8!!

My baby turned 8!!
We are so excited for him to be getting baptized soon.  He had his interview with the bishop yesterday and I was trying to coach him a little and tell him what the Bishop would ask him.  I said the Bishop may ask you why you want to get baptized.  Tyson's response was, "I wanna get dunked!"  Yes, we are worried :)
At 8 Tyson:
-Loves legos!  Loves to talk about legos, loves to watch lego shows, loves to build them and especially loves collecting lego people.
-Is not too big into video games and video systems.  He like to play on the iphones or ipad before he goes for video systems and their games.  We don't even own skylanders!
-Is very well behaved at school, not so much at home or carpool.
-Is super sweet to his baby sister, the other two not so much.
-Loves to hear stories about when he was an awful baby.
Still has only lost 2 teeth. (the ones the dentist pulled out) Yay for slow teeth!!
-Is very talkative for a boy.  He will tell me all about his day when he gets home. I love it!
-Is still a bad sleeper and has frequent nightmares.
-Is described by his teacher as a deep thinker and soft spoken.
-Begs weekly for a baby brother and frequently asks why he has so many sisters!
-Is a quick learner in music.  He is doing great learning the piano and is a pleasure to play songs with.
-Hates, Hates, Hates reading.  It is an ongoing fight that never gets any better :(
-Is not a morning person and is a nightmare to get out the door and off to school.
-Is a great eater and has no problems with vegetables.
-Is so excited to be in cub scouts.
-Loves to be active.  Riding bikes, roller blading, jumping on the trampoline, or playing sports.
-Makes friends easily and is in general pretty easy going while playing with others.

We are so happy to have this crazy, funny, caring, talented boy in our family!

New Park

I don't know about other cities but here in Las Vegas a new park is a huge event.  This park used to be a golf course and is now a massive park with the 3rd largest skate park in the nation.  We went on a very busy day and Tyson got sick which made us leave early.  I didn't even get any pictures of the awesome slides.
Ryan was crazy about climbing this rope ladder over and over again.

I love when this girl poses. Adorable :)

Super fun park, can't wait to go again with less people and healthy kids!

Pumpkin Carving

This is my last post on Halloween.  It was just such a fun holiday :)
We went over to our friends the Cook's house and had carne asada, rice, and salad for dinner.  The kids loved it and afterwards Julie put a huge tarp under her kitchen table and we let the kids go wild.
Hayden was beyond needing a nap but loved pulling the guts out of her little pumpkin.
 I love pumpkin carving!
Tyson was also very serious about his pumpkin this year.  He wrote a whole story at school about how he was going to decorate his pumpkin with his lego guys hanging out of it.
We got these pumpkins at Gilcrease Orchard at the beginning of the season and sadly this little one was pretty rotten.  Hayden had her heart set on it so I tried to make a kitty cat face on it.
The older kids hard at work :)
Tyson was so proud of his pumpkin he did entirely himself.
Here are the finished products. I was trying for a moustache pumpkin but sadly he just looks like he has a harelip.
My favorite pumpkin of the night, Jack Skellington.  One success, one fail, one house for legos, and one moldy kitty.
Super fun night!!

Halloween

After Hayden's morning party we had to get her out of costume and send her to school.  It was so dumb.  No costumes were allowed at her other preschool and they weren't even allowed to call it a Halloween party, it was a fall celebration.  Whatever!  I am grateful for Somerset, they have their issues this year but they at least got the holiday right.

The kids were allowed to wear costumes and then had a huge costume parade outside.  Taylor was so surprised to see me.  She was bummed I couldn't come to her class for their party.
All the specials teachers dressed up as Wizard of Oz, so funny!
Tyson was hard to spot in his Darth Mal costume.
He couldn't wear his mask so we blacked his eyes out to make him look a little scary.
Tyson's teacher is a Jehovah's Witness so I volunteered to do the holiday parties this year.  We did a writing activity and craft.  Then we did cookie math and decorated our cookies.  I also brought a ton of prizes and we played Halloween Bingo and a match game.
Here is our original trick or treating group.  We have a great neighborhood and the minute we walked out the door we met up with 5 different families from our ward.
This has got to be my favorite costume ever.  So cute and so easy!
Zombie Owen eating Monster High Taylor's brains :)
 The DeMille's ready for action!
Couldn't resist one more.  Isn't she a doll?!
The boys ran off with Jason and Adam as chaperones and Sandy and I were left with the babies and the BFF'S.
Hayden was all about the candy.
Parker was a little leary of some houses.
And was dragged up to this one :)

Such a fun night! I was so glad when it was over!
