The Fair

We just went to the Clark County Fair in Logandale again.
Hayden was not too excited about riding the horses but she put up with it OK.
Taylor was in heaven, she could ride horses all day.
Tyson is getting a little old and was getting bored with going in circles by the end.
This was the first year Taylor tried the water balls.  She was pretty hesitant but still had fun.
The kids loved watching this goat eat it's cage sign.  Ever since they went to Uncle Brandon's house they have been begging for a goat.  Now I can remind them that goats eat everything and we can't get one.
Tyson is such a nut in these water balls.
Hayden learned the song "Popcorn Popping" and now has to smell everything, so here she is smelling the toy pig we got her while watching the pig races.
The kids are always fascinated with the Mommy pig and her babies.  They also beg for mini pigs after visiting Uncle Brandon.  To deal with those whinings I drive them past the pig farm with the window open and they stop begging for pigs :)
We watched the pig races and then went over to mutton bustin.  Tyson has been asking to enter this event for 2 years.  Even after seeing all these kids wiping out he wants to still do it.
This is where mutton bustin went horribly wrong, Taylor had been being difficult and I swatted her on the butt and told her to knock it off.  She actually went to the gate turned around and attacked!  (Note her little fist) Needless to say there were some more swats on the butt and time out time.  I'd like to go on a quick rant here:  What the heck is wrong with children today?  If I ever dreamed of hitting my parents I would be way too scared to do it!  I would have gotten the beating of my life if I had acted how my children do.  I feel I am a rather strict parent, I do believe in spanking, maybe I should step it up a bit and invest in a cattle prong.  It seems to work with live stock!
After the incident at mutton bustin I was done and refused to do one more thing for the terrible T's.  (By this time Tyson was also throwing fits because we weren't buying him everything he wanted)  Hayden and I got our Texas Twister drinks and played in the area for toddlers.  We ate dinner and then the kids were told we would never be coming to the fair again!  Why can't my children be decent?  Goodbye Clark County Fair, it's been fun.

Taylor's preschool

The other day Tyson was complaining about Taylor's preschool and saying it's not fair how much fun Taylor is having.  I reply, "Life's not fair".  I don't think he appreciates that :)  Gotta love big brothers!
We had an after Easter egg hunt at the park.  Aren't these just the most adorable hats and makeup?  I love that Taylor kept it on most of the time.
Taylor is very serious about egg hunts now and was all business when the kids were let loose.  This is also one of Taylor's favorite shirts, she loves anything that says "Grandpa" on it.  She loves her Grandpa and talks about him and Grandma all the time.
Hayden was not officially in the egg hunt but that didn't stop the girl from grabbing some eggs.
Hayden, Jane, Tay, and Sadie enjoying lunch and the cutest drink boxes ever.
This same week we went on a field trip with Taylor's preschool to the Springs Preserve.  Hayden got very wet messing with this ball.
They had a flash flood exhibit which was in this room that got dark and then there was lightning and thunder and a huge flash flood.  I love their little faces of concern.
Here is Hayden's face before I had to pick her up :)
Hayden is a climbing crazy so she was glad to find this turtle and be allowed to climb on it.
Taylor found the sand box and had some fun in there.
Taylor, Sadie, Adam and Lisa checking out the train exhibit.
They have a fun outdoor area for the kids with a play train.  Doesn't Hayden look so grown up here?  She is sure losing her baby face :(   I have to agree with Tyson it is so unfair all the fun that Taylor is having.  Thanks to all you wonderful Moms in our preschool, you're the Best!!!

April 12x12

This is my very first 12x12 and let me say it was a lot harder than I thought it would be!  Trying to remember the camera all day was quite a chore.  It turned out alright though :)
This is how I start my day every morning.  Our family is crazy about Plants vs. Zombies and I have to take care of my Zen Garden.  This year this is the only garden I can care about.  Jason put one in outside and I have gone out all of two times this season to look at it.
I had been dreading this day all week.  I had a crazy amount of things to do and thanks to Mark's urologist changing our appointment from Tuesday to Thursday I had to take him to the doctor as well.  The girls and I hit Target and CVS after kindergarten drop off.  Ran home and had a primary meeting at our house at 10am.  During which I was watching a baby from 10-2pm so her mother, brother and sister could go to the dentist. Whew!
After the meeting and kindergarten pick up Taylor and I put up a few spring decorations.
This is Tyson's face the minute homework is said, I wish I could give you the sound effects (they are not pleasant)!
After finishing the tortures of homework, sometimes you just gotta bust out of your shirt and jump on the trampoline I guess.
This is the only thing that gets me through these days!  I was downing one while driving Mark to the urologist to get a catheter change.  I also couldn't find a babysitter because of all the activities going on on Thursday so my Mom got off work early to watch the kids. (Thanks Mom!!!)  I really didn't want them to have to witness a catheter change.  They already ask why Mark has a bag on his leg and I tell them because he's old.
Taylor has to be involved in the kitchen every night.  Here she is making pasta.
For dinner we had BBQ chicken, pasta, vegetables and fruit.  A pretty typical meal for us.
 The chow down.
Hayden loves frozen vegetables and is seen here eating here third bowl of them.
Jason had to work the snack bar at the ball fields so he went straight there from work so we didn't see the guy until we got to the ball park.  Grandma again helped out and kept the girls at home with her so they didn't have to be out in the wind.  Tyson is in love with the ball park nachos.
I am Tyson's church ball coach and love to be out there with my boy :) The other team only had four players so we called the game early.  Our very long day was finally over!  Let's hope next month's 12x12 is a little less exciting!!!

Easter

Happy Easter!!!!
We have had a very busy Easter.  We helped a lady in our ward stuff over 800 Easter eggs so we were invited to her community's Easter egg hunt and boy did  the kids make out!
Their little baskets were filled to over flowing and they had a great time.
This is the best shot we got of all three of them looking at the camera.  I am extremely prejudiced but I think they are darling :)
I had to throw in a couple of the poses that didn't make the cut.  The tantrums...
...and of course the crazy faces.
We also went to our old ward's Easter party.  They had a real petting zoo with horse rides!!
They also had egg coloring which is always fun :)
Tyson is such a good big brother and rode with his baby sister.
Taylor, our little cow girl.
Our ward had a picnic at the ball fields with an egg hunt.  Hayden loved finding the eggs but really wanted to find out what was in each one before she would go after another.
Tyson's older group were let loose and it was a frantic chase to get the eggs.
This year the baskets were not too big, they got two toys and then Easter items and of course candy.  I also cut back on the eggs to hide after the kids got bored last year and kept whining to be done.
The kids woke up, immediately found their baskets that were hidden under the stairs, dumped them out and were on the search for more eggs.
I love that they couldn't be bothered to change or even brush their hair, they were just too excited.  Hope everyone had a great Easter! (I am so glad to be done with holidays until after the baby comes) (Someone asked me if I celebrate Cinco de Mayo and I almost shouted at them, I feel I am making excellent progress on making the holidays fun for the kids but I draw the line at other countries holidays!!!  Sorry Mexico.)
