Roller skating

Tyson's school had a skate night at Crystal Palace.  Jason, our resident expert on thinking he knows everything, told us we couldn't bring our own sates because we would scrape up the places special floor.  Have you ever heard anything so crazy?  So we didn't bring the kids brand new skates and rented their nasty ones.  We spent 25 minutes trying to get the perfect skate for Tyson and tie it just right.  I could have killed first, the hubs, second the whiny kid!
Hayden thought it was hilarious to just throw herself repeatedly on the floor.  Such a nut!
Tyson couldn't figure it out at first and fell a ton.  He came over and took his skates off and wanted to go home.
Taylor was a huge fan of the wall, she followed that thing around and around.
Hayden was a full time job out on the rink.  She kept throwing herself down and Jason had to keep saving her before others ran her over.
After a pep talk/ life threatening, Tyson got his skates back on and gave it another go.  He did really well and we had to tear him away from the rink when it was time to go.
Taylor had a blast going around with her favorite guy, Daddy.
Ryan was dancing and loved all of the action.
We will have to make another trip to the roller skating rink with not so many people and our own roller skates :)

April 12x12 Fair Edition

This month the 12x12 fell on the day we were going to the fair.  So there are quite a few more pictures than 12 :)
We started our day signing up for mutton bustin'.  Tyson and Taylor have talked about it for a month and finally the day was here.  They got their numbers, we paid our registration fee, and we officially signed in.
I don't know if you can tell where my kids are in line.  Oh yeah, they're the city slickers :)
Taylor went first, here she is with her huge helmet.  I was shocked that she actually went through with it.  The whole competition started off with a total cowgirl chickening out and bawling her eyes out when they set her on the sheep.  Jason was back with the kids and I had the baby and Hayden.  Jason said he didn't really talk to her about it, he just said, "Your turn", and threw her over the rail and onto the sheep.  Gotta love Dads!
Here she is in all her glory.  Her ride lasted maybe a second and her score was 47 out of 100.
Taylor said she was crying after it was over because the sheep stepped on her when it threw her off.
Tyson didn't last much longer than Taylor.  His score was 51 out of 100.

They gave each of the kids a t-shirt and an envelope.  The top five scorers went on to the championship round later that night.

The kids were shocked to receive $5 each in their envelopes.  It burnt a hole in their pocket the rest of the day.  I was glad after they finally spent them.  Taylor bought pig earrings and Tyson bought a milkshake.
We love seeing the pig races.  Here is the whole crew and some members from our ward who we ran into.  You never know who you are going to see at the fair.  We also ran into Jason's aunt and uncle.  Their daughter was singing in a mini talent show.
There goes swifty the pig swimming across his huge tub.
My favorite has to be the huge pigs flying around the track.  I love all the funny names they name the pigs.  ie. Kevin Bake-ham, Britney Spare-ribs, Lindsey Lo-ham, Christina Ham-ulara :)
While Ryan had a 10 minute nap under the shade canopy, Jason took the terrible T's to do the water balls.  Taylor some how skinned her elbow inside the ball and said she can never do the balls again.

We walked through all of the animal displays.  Hayden was amazed  and kept talking to the animals in their native tongues, moo-moo, bah-bah, cock-a-doodle-doo.  Maybe we have sung Old McDonald one too many times :)
Isn't that the coolest baby spotted pig you've ever seen?  Darling!  I always want a baby pig until I see the huge Momma pig, what the heck would I do with that huge thing?
The one and only picture of me and of course I am eating ice cream. Ryan is a huge ice cream fan too, as you can tell.
 Love the pony rides :)

Tyson really wanted to rock climb and did really well for his first time.
This is how far he got before he gave up.  He got stuck and couldn't figure out where to put his feet next.  I've never rock climbed before so I was really proud of him for giving it a go.
Taylor saw a little girl doing flips on this jumping thing and told me she could do way better.
She started going high and got a little freaked out but then got the hang of it.
 Gotta love that crazy girl!
Super fun day at the fair.  It wasn't too busy and we got everything done that we wanted to do.

The haircuts

Do you ever have those days that everything has been building up and one thing sets you off and then you explode?  The hair debate finally put me over the edge, so today the hair was whacked off!
Hayden screams the minute I tell her it is time to do her hair. Screams!!  Every. single. day!
 Guess what?  Whacked!!  Woo hoo!

Taylor is of course the worst hair offender in the house.  This morning she was running late, as always, and I was hurriedly putting her hair up into a ponytail.  Right when I had smoothed out all the lumps and was about to put the ponytail on she ripped my hand off of her hair and shouted, "What are you doing?"  That was the very moment I lost it.
Off to Great clips we went, Taylor screaming and kicking the whole way.  She thought I was cutting it as short as a boys. (I may or may not have told her I was going to shave her bald)  She made her little sister go first because she was too scared.
Now she loves it and is telling people it was her idea to get a haircut.
I just can't stand it...kids that is :)

Easter 2013

We had a very early Easter.  The kids were up by 6:30am finding their baskets that were hidden all over the downstairs.  Then they looked outside and saw all the eggs the Easter bunny had left and had to wake the whole house up.
Sorry for the dark pictures, it was early!  The girls got Little Miss Muffin dolls and Tyson got a lego set (of course).  The Easter bunny did not disappoint Taylor and got her a 4 pack of chapstick.  Tyson and Taylor got mini kid safes, they are really into keeping their stuff away from Hayden. She is our very own Tasmanian devil :)
 Then the hunt was on!

Tyson had to stop when his basket wouldn't hold any more.
Ryan liked the plastic the basket was wrapped in more than what was in the basket.
 Aren't these the funniest glasses?
Hayden walks around kissing us while wearing the glasses. She is such a goof :)
Easter torture, I mean pictures :)
Tyson owed me a quarter each time he complained about his clothes at church.  He owes me .75 cents.  Not too bad, I thought we would for sure be in the dollars :)

 Hayden, the budding drama queen...
...or flasher, we can't tell yet.  Maybe both :)

Taylor had the roughest morning because of her hair.  I usually fight her on Sundays and tell her it is my turn to do something pretty with her hair other than a ponytail.  This day I did crazy buns and she lost her mind.  She had just had a huge spanking before this picture for attacking her sister.
And made her hair look horrible with all the drama, Ahhhh!
Ryan, showing some rare love to Daddy.  She is attached to me at the hip and is usually fussing if I am not holding her.

The attempt at pictures with all four is always fun!

All this Easter fun was brought to you by the Easter Mom :)
Happy Easter!!!
