Kid's Club

In another attempt to be an active family, we tried this new place called Kid's Club.  It is off of Jones and Craig, so not too far from our house.  They have happy hour every day from 3pm to 6pm and it is half price so it costs $5 a kid.
The kids were in heaven!  They ran and ran until they were silly.  Tyson and Taylor loved this train track.  It is all kid powered but they got pretty fast. (There was a note saying parent supervision is required while kids were on the train and I jokingly made fun of this until I saw how fast they can get and how other kids can run on the tracks.  Needless to say I hauled my butt over there and was supervising my children).
Hayden liked it a lot until other kids came near her or tried to play with her.  She can get loud when expressing her displeasure.  The other half of the time she wanted to be held like a baby.  She hasn't been feeling too well lately.
Ryan was actively cute, she is pulling her weight in our new active family :)
All the activity wore the poor girl out.  She passed out sitting like this while my cousin Kara was holding her.
Don't you just love bouncers?  My kids could be in them all day.  That is Taylor mid air :)
This is the only shot I got of CeCe, my cousin's daughter.  We always joke about what our kids should call each other.  Is it 2nd cousins? And what do they call my cousin?  Just cousin? My Grandpa would say we are all cousins, so there you go I guess.

Active kids, check. (This boy did not slow down once for two hours!)  Stay tuned for active parents next.  We are in the process of turning our extra room into a mini gym!  WooHoo!

Hiking

We decided that we need to be a more active family so we are in the process of trying new outdoor and indoor family activities.  So last Saturday we decided to take a crack at hiking with the crew.
We searched for the easiest hike at Mount Charleston and google said Echo Falls was pretty easy.
Who knew Taylor would love hiking so much?  Most of the time we had to keep calling her to come back because we couldn't see her.
She was very nice to her sister the entire time as well.  Hayden was not too fond of hiking and wanted to be held.  Once you go down the slippery slope of holding there is no turning back so we were strong and Hayden hiked the entire time.  (She did fuss the whole way back to the car and started clapping when we were done)
Ryan loves to be where the action is.  We started her off facing in but changed her mid hike and she was very happy after that.
 Snack time
It took quite some time to get this little guys picture, he kept going back and forth on the tree.  Taylor begged to take him home.  She said she would keep him in her room and take care of him.  She has told me this while begging for a horse, cat, lizard, and frog just this week.
Taylor loved the pine cones and luckily didn't ask to take them home, she just kept holding them while she walked until she was tired of them.  My kids always want to bring pine cones home and then it breaks their hearts when I toss them out.  We really had fun hiking, it is definitely something we will try again.

The Dentist

We had our 6 month dentist appointment for the kids last week.  Taylor is an old pro, she jumped right up and had no problems.

Hayden loved watching her big sister getting her teeth cleaned.

Tyson did great with his x-rays.
He did really well during the cleaning.  They have TV's in the ceiling and the kids wear headphones to listen to the program.  This boy is obsessed with TV so the hygienist really didn't bother him too much, except when he couldn't see the TV :)

Then it was Hayden's turn...
...she checked out all the equipment...

...and actually let them put polish on her teeth!
She did really well for a 2 1/2 year old.  She got kind of fussy for the dentist and didn't quite know why they wanted her to stick out her tongue.  She usually gets in trouble for doing that :)

Our dentist report:  No cavities!!!
Taylor has two watches for next time and Hayden is looking like she will have many orthodontist appointments in her future due to a cross bite.  Good thing we have started her early :)

On the drive home Tyson announced to the car, "I love going to the dentist!"
Be still my dentist loving heart :)

Ryan's blessing

Ryan had her blessing this weekend!  Isn't she the cutest thing ever?
Here is the whole gang.  This year we did some pictures before church because after church is too crazy.

Here is Grandpa holding sweet Ryan.

Don't you just want to pinch the heck out of those cheeks?

Here are the four crazies.  Ty-Ty, Tay-Tay, Hay-Hay and Ry-Ry.  Taylor's sunbeam teacher came up and asked me what we named the baby because Taylor kept calling her Ry-Ry.  Hayden has started posing and we were cracking up.  She is losing all her baby chub and looks so grown up lately!  Good thing Ryan has baby chub to spare :)
Had to throw in one last crying picture.  Tyson and Taylor like to say to each other, "Babies are a lot of work!" "And they cry a lot too!"
True and true :)

Ballet again

Taylor had her second ballet class.  She loves it!  She asked me every day this week if she could go to ballet.

They did these new exercises.  They lay flat on the ground...
and then go up on their hands and have their feet touch their heads.

She is finally getting that she needs to get up on her tippy toes.  Isn't she the cutest?
We brought her tap shoes and the girls loved stomping around and making a ton of noise.

This time the teacher left the room door open so we were able to watch Taylor a lot better.
 Hayden made herself comfortable.
But then she was up to her old tricks of getting into everything. She found these lockers in the hallway and decided she should go in them.
 Such a silly girl!

Pioneer Day

Oh, Pioneer Days.
Why can't we celebrate this in April or September?  Every year we die at the ball field in 100+ temperatures, and this year was no exception.
These pictures are from the Friday night dinner.  We always have fun trying to figure out how to get all the food from the serving area to our table.  We always arrive at things early because it is no fun pushing a wheelchair through crowds and we must have a table or things get pretty ugly :)
This year I didn't even try to stop the kids from getting filthy in the sand I just asked them to wait until their food was done.  One small victory for Mom and happy kids too.
This year I dressed the kids in their swim clothes and told them to go hog wild on the wet toys.  We did get a few weird stares from people but I didn't care :)

Tyson honestly thinks he is the greatest swimmer so when he begged to go on the dunk tank I let him.  He took the whole thing very seriously, as you can tell by his face.
This guy threw one ball and knocked him down.
He said it was fun but when I asked if he would like to go again he said, "NO".
Tyson loved this slide and would have gone down all day if he could.  Taylor got to the front of this slide's line and chickened out over and over again.  After four times I pulled her out of line and let Tyson use her turns.  We had a fun time as always but I'm just saying we would have a super time if we also weren't sweating to death.  Seriously I don't think the pioneers would be offended if we celebrated them in a month other than July :)
