Taylor's glasses

Taylor had her 6 year old well check up in August and they screened her for her sight and told me I need to take her to an optometrist.  Come to find out my girl can't see!!
She did super great on all of the tests to get her readings.

The saddest part was when the doctor started changing the lenses to see which was better.  Taylor sat up and was amazed that she could see so clear.  It broke my little heart :(
She has an astigmatism in one eye and has some nearsightedness in the other eye.  The doctor said she can't see near and she can't see far.  So Sad!!  I asked the doctor why we didn't know sooner that she couldn't see and he said she had been seeing like this her whole life, she didn't know any better.  How do you explain something's fuzzy if you've never seen it clear?
Here she is wearing them for the first time!!
We went to McDonalds to celebrate her new glasses!!
When we picked them up they told us she may get headaches and actually fall down a bit because she was so used to over compensating for her perception of things being off.  She's had them 2 days and has done really well with them :)

Quick Trip

We are crazy, and decided to get a quick one day trip to Disney in before school started.  Totally spontaneous and nuts!

This little girl's run cracks me up.
Freakily, my 2 cousins and their families were at Disney the same day! We met up with CeCe to watch the parade.
ANNA!!!!    ELSA!!!!
Adorable :)
Hayden slept through the whole thing :)

Then we did our favorite, Autotopia.
Where Ryan promptly passed out!

She was OUT!
We park hopped over to Disney California and rode a few rides before I talked Jason into getting this huge ice cream at Ghiradelli.  (We got ice cream there once and now I dream of it.)  Isn't that monster amazing?!?  It has 8 different ice creams and 8 different toppings.  Delicious!!
It was a DeMille free for all.
Licked clean :)
We caught the fireworks in between both parks.  Disney never disappoints!
We got home Sunday afternoon just in time for Father's blessings, backpack load ups, and uniform/school clothes lay out before school started the next day.  Crazy trip, but such a blast!

Bounce U

Our friends the Cooke's had bought a Groupon for Bounce U and invited us to go along.  It was a blast!!  2 hours of run around play time, the kids were in heaven :)
They had this amazing climbing contraption.  It had a trampoline at the bottom but each level was only made of these stretchy bands.  Tyson and Taylor tried for a minute but only made it to the 2nd level.  I told Tyson that if he made it to the top I'd pay him $5.  So who climbs to the top first? Taylor of course!!  This first picture she was the first one to make it but was so scared at the top she would not stand up.
This is Taylor going up for the 2nd time and Tyson trailing behind her.  Hilarious!!  She loves when she can beat her big brother at anything.
I love these wind tunnels so we had to throw the kids in it.  So fun :)

After the wind tunnel the terrible T's were back to racing up the climbing thing.
Tyson found a money maker in this climbing business and earned $20 on this adventure.  I have been really trying to find a thing to motivate this kid, summer has been hard.  All he wants to do is watch TV.  The other day I was watching the news about a little boy who had a degenerative disease that was making him lose his sight.  He eventually will be blind.  The story was about how this sweet little boy is touring the nations capitol and seeing the sights before he loses his sight.  Tyson says, "If I was going blind, I would sit all day and watch as many TV shows as possible!"  Arghhh!
Good to know $ still will get this kid moving.  I am also going to try fire ants and a cattle prod next :)

Shark Reef

Tyson got 2 free kid admission passes with paid adults so we made another trip to the Shark Reef before school started.

This guy was sand blasting the coral, it was awesome to watch.
Ryan was not sure of the sting rays and had to go wash her hands every time she got a little water on her. So nuts!

The jelly fish, my fave :)

I hate that you exit through the gift shop, It ruined the whole experience. There were swear words, threatening, and abandonment of this shark boy.
Fun trip, until the end...

Cutie Patootie

My phone is full of random pics of this girl.  I thought I'd do a blog post of cuteness.  Enjoy :)
The IKEA in CA had this weird horse upstairs and she had to get a picture with it.
She also tried to talk us into buying this stuffed animal she couldn't even lift.
She is a daredevil and did this slide around 20 times.
She would get major air in the middle.
 Such a nut!
Peek a boo
Hayden & Ryan love to take pictures with my phone.  They know they are not suppose to so they laugh and laugh while filling my phone with craziness.

As an entire family we cannot get over the cuteness of this munchkin.  She is going to be a spoiled princess, she is given everything she wants just by smiling or screaming for it.  We are in for trouble!
