Disneyland

We decided months ago to go to Disneyland in October if Jason still has a job.  We have had an awful year with his work and thought that by October things would finally be resolved.  Well they aren't, and it's a constant stress, but we decided to go to Disneyland anyway.  That's the kind of people we are :)
We drove up Sunday morning and decided to go to Disney California for the night.  The kids love buses.  Their school doesn't have one so I think that is the appeal.

Hayden is our most fun loving girl, she got right out in the middle of the street and got to dancing while the other three stared.  Love this girl!
She even got some butt slapping action going :)
Ryan loved seeing all the new things.
I was really excited for the kids to ride this ride.  It's brand new and I thought it would be so fun.  They hated it!  There is no way to control it and it kind of sucks :(

Jason and the girls leaning to try to get it to move how they want.
Jason took the older kids on the new cars racers (which were totally awesome!) and I took the girls to Bug's Land.  We went on the lady bug ride.

Ryan was crazy about these hippie beads at the little store they have in cars land.

The kids also loved Mater's tow ride.

The ride flys you everywhere but is super fun.
Fun first night!

Fall Festival

A week ago the kids' school had their Fall Festival.  I love all the PC terms.  I think people get so caught up in not offending anyone.  What a waste of time.  It's the school's Halloween party, there I said it.  Please take offense :)
We met up with some friends which always make these events easier.
Hayden and Parker  were in heaven to be with each other.
 Ryan and Ellie
Ryan loves slides once she gets over the initial shock of sliding.
She is also very leery of strange kids and would rather stare at them then join in.  I think it's hilarious :)
Hayden on the other hand has never met a stranger she doesn't want to play with.

 Jason and his girls.
We ended the night with the cupcake walk.  I have awesome memories of school Halloween parties and the cupcake walk.  But back in my day it was a  whole cake walk.  I would spend all day trying to get a cake. So fun!

I guess even the cake walk has been PC-ified. Cupcakes are not as unhealthy as giving a kid a whole cake.  And of course everyone has to win.  Lucky Taylor :)

October 12x12

We started our day with no football game to go to and Darrell didn't have staff to take him to soccer so we had a nice easy morning.  By "we" I mean everyone but me.  Every single time I have the opportunity to sleep in it always gets messed up.  I was up at 2 am with Taylor because she was wheezing.  We did a breathing treatment downstairs.  That woke Hayden up who then wanted to sleep with me.  The child throws a mean left hook and I am sure my skull is bruised.  This went on until the dog snuck in my room and started licking herself. (My number one hated sound)  I jumped out of bed and started the day around 5am, so much for the one day to sleep in!!
Tyson had a birthday party to go to.  I am that Mom who will get other kids the things I would never allow my own kids to have.  Case in point: spackle.  Doesn't that just look like it's going to be a huge mess?!  Not in my house though :)
If Hayden sees the camera she asks for a picture.  If she doesn't ask for a picture, she refuses to look when you are trying to take a picture.  She's fun.
We dropped Tyson off at Battle Blast and had to stop at Macayo's for lunch.  It was directly across the street, our hands were tied on this one!
Taylor is an "artist" and made quite a lovely rainbow poncho for the little Macayo guy.
Ryan thinks she is so big and has to have a sample of everyone's food and drink at the table.
After Macayos we ran over to Deseret Book to buy Tyson some scriptures for his upcoming baptism.  I had a mini breakdown while shopping and ended up buying him almost everything that had the word baptism on it.  Jason held me back on the baptism towel, he said we have plenty of towels that will do just fine.  I may sneak back and buy it.  He is my first baby getting baptized!  I am freaking out!!
We went back to Battle Blast with a little time to spare so Jason tried his hardest to win the kids a minion but $10 bucks in I called it quits.
Ryan was in heaven searching for any change left in the machines :)
When we got home the kids rode bikes and I cleaned out the van.
Tyson has a brand new bike in the garage that he is getting for his birthday.  Just one more month on this little baby bike.
We had our friends the Buffington's come over to watch the BYU game.  The kids decided to do an impromptu dance party.
They were totally into the dancing.  I guess I better shell out the money for some dance party games!
Busy, fun, (tired) day :)

Gilcrease Orchards

Hayden's preschool had a field trip to Gilcrease Orchards!  Here are 7 of the 9 kids, Lily, Niki, Shelby, Cannon, Parker, Hay-Hay, & Sawyer.  The 2 little girls on the ends are siblings.
It was very windy which made everyone a little grumpy.
Jason had the day off so he got to come too.  It was his first time there which I was surprised about since I go every year :)  It was great having him there, he did the potty run!
Ryan liked the pumpkin patch but stayed very close to us.
Hayden on the other hand ran like a wild child.  She probably fell 50 times but kept jumping right up to run some more.
Snacks and a wagon = Hayden Heaven.
I love to carpool, but I don't know if Jason does.  He got stuck in the back of the van with the girls. I heard several conversations about princesses, nails, and shoes.  Parker and Hayden are also in a rubbing stage so Jason was rubbed on both sides by these very affectionate girls. Hilarious!

We also made the babies sit by each other.  This was a  rare time they weren't yelling at each other.  Can you believe these two are 6 days apart?  Ryan looks like such a baby compared to Ellie, I think its the hair :)

Super fun field trip!  I was going to get a picture of the doughnuts they make there out of apple cider but those things were gone in 2 minutes flat.  So yummy!!

Truck Races

I don't know if you buy Hamburger Helper at all but I was at the store the other day and saw that if you buy 3 Hamburger Helpers you get a family 4 pack to the truck races at the speedway for free.  I can't pass up free so Hamburger Helper it is!!
We have never taken the kids to the races and thought our ear plugs would work.  Not so much!  The trucks did 164 laps and shook the seats every time they came by.

The kids loved when the trucks stopped in pit row.  Those guys are crazy fast.
Hayden was really into the races she ohhed and ahhed the most.  We did see a lot of out of control cars spin out in the grass and one poor truck lost both front tires and had to drive with sparks coming out to get to pit row.  The kids were really worried about that one  :)
After about a half hour Jason went and bought 4 sets of ear muffs.  They were an investment but now we have them and will have to start going to more races to use them. Or firework displays, or gun shooting, or rock concerts... I'm looking at the positive.
Plus, my baby could maybe become the ear muff spokes baby  :)  Doesn't that face make you want to run out and buy some?  I had to hide them from Tyson, he keeps wearing them at home so he can't hear me when it's time to do homework.  Gotta love that boy!!

Talk like a pirate day!

I like to do fun things with the kids so when I heard about Talk like a pirate day at Krispy Kreme I jumped on it!
Hayden and Tyson were at school so I grabbed the two girls and we got to dressing up.
If you go in and talk like a pirate you get a free doughnut but if you dress up like a pirate you get a free box of doughnuts!  Yep, we scored 3 boxes of free doughnuts!!  I couldn't decide which kid's class to take them to so I bought 2 more boxes and we walked out of Krispy Kreme with 5 boxes of doughnuts!
Isn't Ryan the best baby pirate you've ever seen?
Tyson was so surprised when the doughnuts were brought to his class and was told all day how much his classmates love him.  Taylor loved all the attention also from her classmates and now all the kids say hi to me when I pick her up from school.  So funny!! I am marking my calendar for next year, this was such a fun day!!!

Great Harvest field trip

Hayden's preschool had a field trip to Great Harvest!
Hayden and her BFF Parker.  These two just love each other so much!  When Hayden wakes up in the morning half the time she doesn't even say hello to me, she asks me, "Where's Parker?"  Meaning, "Am I going to see Parker today?"
We went to the new location for our field trip.  It was interesting because I had never been back there.  Not as exciting as the old location but the kids liked it so that's all that matters :)

The kids loved the bunny made out of dough but the best part was when he cut all the dough up and let them have their very own.
My girls were fascinated by it.

Super fun field trip.  Hayden is having so much fun with her friend school. (It's a fight to get her to go to her preschool at the elementary school, she just wants to see her friends)
